In John Lennon’s classic song, Imagine, he invites his listeners to imagine a world at total peace, and then suggests how we bring that about–by removing everything that causes divisions among people. Things like possessions, countries, and…religion. It might seem like he’s on to something when we hear Jesus say in the Gospel, “I have not come to bring peace on earth, but division.” But as we look at the example of the Prophet Jeremiah, we see that maybe division is exactly what this world needs!
“Thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57)
