I Know that My Redeemer Lives and So Will I!
Through the hardships and suffering he endured, Job clung to the promise of the resurrection, and that he had a Redeemer who he would one day see in his own resurrected flesh and with his own resurrected eyes! These promises of the resurrection--both Jesus' and ours-- can also allow us to persevere through the struggles and trials of this life!

    Craving Koinonia
We all have cravings, which drive our actions. Sometimes they're cravings which lead us to make good decisions, and sometimes they lead us to make deadly decisions. So as we rethink our appetites, we look to the special meal that Jesus instituted for his people to eat, and see two benefits from the Lord's Supper which should lead us to crave it!

    Real Strength Has Real Purpose
Religion likes to see their god looking powerful and mighty, because that makes it easier to trust in that god to defeat enemies, and make people's lives turn out the way they want! But in his passion, Jesus doesn't exactly look like the world's strongest man. Instead, he looks weak, defeated, and humble! And yet, as we rethink real strength, we'll see that real strength isn't about brute force or the ability to achieve earthly success. Real strength has a real purpose!

    Sympathy
When Jesus certainly deserved our sympathy, he instead feels sympathy for others—even for those who crucified him! See how Jesus’ sympathy for you influences the sympathy you have for others—even those who make your life harder and your crosses heavier!

    Devoted Commitment Produces Devoted Commitment
In religion, people tend to assume that the greatest glory is found in the devoted commitment that we show to God through our words, actions, and attitudes. However, Jesus flips the notion upside down, showing us that the glory of the Christian Church isn't found in our devoted commitment to God, but in his devoted commitment to us! And it's his devoted commitment for us in Jesus that motivates and moves us to show devoted commitment to him in our lives!

    Lifted Up
When the people of Israel were bitten by venomous snakes, God gave an interesting solution to the problem. He had Moses make a bronze serpent and put it up on a pole, so that anyone bitten could look at it and live. God also has given an interesting solution to the deadlier venom of sin--again, by lifting up something and attaching promises to it, so that everyone who looks to it in faith will live! Watch Pastor Troy's sermon to find out what God's solution to the problem of sin really is!

    A Blessing Worth Fighting For
What is worship worth to you? How you answer that question probably depends on how you answer a couple different questions: Is worship about what we do for God? Or about what he does for us? And is worship worthwhile because of the actions of worship? Or because of the object of worship? Worship is obviously important to Jesus, as our sermon text shows! Watch Pastor Troy's sermon to see why worship is worthwhile for you too!

    Testimony
    Series: God on Trial
When you're surrounded by a hostile crowd, who questions who you are, accuses you, and puts you on trial, what will you say? In tonight's sermon text, we see that happen both to Jesus, and to the Apostle Peter. One's testimony is unwavering and true. The other's testimony is faltering and denying. Believe it or not, in our words, attitudes, actions, and reactions, we're also giving regular testimony about Jesus to those around us. So, what is your testimony saying about Jesus?
